Most of us upload our beautiful pictures on social media. We take photos in beautiful environments and serene places. You know why? Because we want people to love us, to accept us, and to appreciate us. We rarely upload the pictures of our ugly experiences and realities. There are people who live in a room apartment but who find it easy uploading pictures from hotel rooms. Many don’t have a car in reality but they have many cars on social media. It is so easy to look beautiful here.

Ask some people to take you to their bedrooms and you will cringe and become uncomfortable immediately. Tell them to show you what they have got, and you will realize they have been living a life of lies. What am I trying to say? Many of us thrive on deceit. In this world of social media, it is so easy to deceive people. I know people who judge the content of people’s pockets by the beautiful pictures they see on social media. There are MDs and CEOs on social media who are jobless in real life.

The truth is, people don’t usually expose their ugly sides. Everyone likes to paint a beautiful picture of themselves. I was born in the city. I went back to the village to live with my grandmother after my father’s death. I came back to the city after some years to continue my schooling. I have gone through ugly experiences in life and I’m still going through some. I don’t usually upload pictures of these ugly sides. I keep them to myself and open up the beautiful moments. This is what almost all of us do, although there are some exceptions.

But the thing is, it is only a fool who will think that the kind of beautifulness that people portray on social media is permanent. No, it is not. Everyone who uploads a beautiful picture has his ugly experiences too. He may just decide not to talk about it. Slay queens understand this concept of deceit very well. Most of them get fucked by rich men in secret. Or in hotel rooms. They don’t upload pictures of where these men are fucking them and digging their holes.

They don’t upload where these men are riding them like donkeys. They don’t upload the moanings and the vibrations caused by deep shagging. No, they won’t, because they know the sight is not beautiful for exhibition. These slay queens depend on men for money. They depend on men for phones. They depend on men for cars. They depend on men for gadgets. They depend on men for almost everything. Majority of them don’t have a job. The only assets they have is the pussy and the boobs.

But they know how to come on social media and upload beautiful pictures to torment you with their supposed beautiful life. They can only come out after the act to show you the beautiful things they have. That is life for you: there are behind-the-scenes to everything. That is why you shouldn’t hate or envy anyone when you see their success. You just don’t know the kind of sacrifice they made to get to where they are. The synopsis of my epistle is that there are two sides to everything in life.

When you see someone’s beautiful side, don’t forget they have an ugly side, too. And sometimes, not everything that  appears beautiful is actually beautiful. Your assumptions may be wrong when you judge people from afar. You can’t just know them enough. Don’t be carried away by what people show you on social media. What you see is not always what exists. Most are planned and packaged. They are branded. It is just like life in the movies where everything appears perfect.

I have seen couples who will come on social media to post smiling pictures of themselves. They will embrace one another and kiss and post those pictures for people to see. You will naturally think they are happy together when you see those pictures. But in their homes, they are tearing one another apart, fighting like animals, and living like enemies. A beautiful picture on social media does not always mean a beautiful life. And, having a modest and simple appearance on social media does not mean poverty. You can’t always depend on appearance to determine the contents of people’s pockets.
