Louisiana-based sneaker boutique Sneaker Politics will host an upcoming event dedicated to Hurricane Katrina victims, in which they hope to still bring awareness of the tragedy that took place in August of 2005. From their press release, it seems like Jordan Brand will bring their contribution to the forthcoming campaign with the Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” – a 1-of-1 shoe that was created to raise money for relief – being involved in the release as well.

The upcoming edition

From what we can distinguish based on the flier above, the limited edition release that was first premiered in 2006 will receive a Black and Neon Green theme set to bring the OG design apart from every other release. According to online sources, the shoe will also feature a a mix of leather, elephant print, and visible Air. So different but not that different if you know what we mean.

Obviously, the biggest difference here is that the initial model designed by Jordan Brand was release in an unofficial capacity to help raise money for victims and relief efforts. Now the 2018 edition will feature a larger release for the public (May 12th), an event that will most likely involve other retailers at some point in time. According to Sneaker Politics the official color scheme for this upcoming release will go under the name of White/Cement Grey-Black-Fire Red.

Drop date

Air Jordan 3 fans as well as Sneaker Politics supporters can mark April 28th as the drop date for the event and/or the sneaker release. More details will emerge by the end of this month so we promise to keep you updated.
