Even if sneaker brands are past offering Hip Hop figures exclusive deals, there are a few sneaker collaboration that simply made history for the fans.

Below you will find 5 most memorable Hip Hop and sneaker brands collaborations.

5) Drake x Jordan Brand

Drake signing to Jordan Brand blew up the Internet. The Toronto rapper’s sneakers released up until this point didn’t surprise anyone. All designs were simple, involving not-too-risky colorways with a few OVO sings.

But the fact that they were so hard to get, made this collaborations one of the best involving a rapper and a sneaker brand. Drake x Jordan Brand takes number 5 in our top.

4) Eminem x Jordan Brand

Again, no spectacular releases but very hard to cop. Eminem teamed up with Jordan Brand years ago to drop a limited edition/online exclusive Air Jordan 2, followed by the Air Jordan 4 in Detroit Pistons colorway for friends and family.

Both releases are almost impossible to find while being considered a treat for any sneaker collector. The Air Jordan 4 Retro “Carhartt x Eminem” is also impossible to cop while currently being estimated at $15,000 USD.

3) Wu-Tang Clan x Nike

Wu-Tang merch blew up during the late ’90s and every old school Hip Hop fan knows that. Part of this huge arsenal were the Wu-Tang Clan Nike Dunks. Rumored to be released in only 100 pairs, the kicks were included in the Nike Dunk “Be True To Your School” Collection while currently being estimated at $10,000 USD. That is if you can find them.

2) DJ Clark Kent x Nike

While being known as a fanatic sneaker head, DJ Clark Kent scored so many collaborations with Nike that he even has his own colorway, the “112.” Not many of them are known to the big public but most sneakerheads appreciate them.

Number 2 in our top goes to DJ Clark Kent and Nike, one of the most prolific collaborations involving someone from the Hip Hop world and a sneaker brand.

1) Kanye West x Nike/Run DMC x Adidas

Kanye West took on the sneaker world in 2009 when he wore a pair of all-black Yeezys during the 2009 Grammys. Up until that point he had an exclusive collaboration with Louis Vuitton but him teaming up with Nike was one of the first big announcements in the modern day sneaker culture. ‘Ye’s collaborations with Nike are still hard to cop up until this point with the rapper switching sides to Adidas to continue to make fashion history.

On the other hand, Run DMC already changed the game with Adidas. Run-D.M.C. is just as important to Three Stripes as Michael Jordan is to Nike and the numbers don’t lie. The Adidas Superstar is still one of the most popular shoes releases up until this point. We’ll let Kanye and Run DMC share the first spot in our top but you can give your two cents on that.
