Nigerian pastors mount the pulpit almost every Sunday to speak against corruption, but the truth is that they are the corrupt ones. They tell us almost everyday to store our treasures in heaven, but they continue to store treasures for themselves in this world. They tell us to buy stickers and use the name of Jesus Christ to protect ourselves, but they protect themselves with armed men. This is a pointer that most Nigerian pastors are liars. They don’t practise what they preach. Here is a list of Nigerian pastors, who, according to me, are corrupt. If you are not satisfied, you can go ahead and make your own list:

T.B. Joshua

Temitope Balogun Joshua, commonly referred to as T. B. Joshua , is a Nigerian Pastor, televangelist and philanthropist. He is the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a Christian organisation that runs the Emmanuel TV television station from Lagos. Joshua predicted that Hillary Clinton will win the US presidential election. I think he took his gamble too far. This is how most Nigerian pastors deceive people. According to Raymond Ijabla: “I do not believe in miracles. I believe there is an explanation for every event including those we refer to as supernatural. I challenge all the Adeboye’s, Oyedepo’s, Oyakhilome’s, Kumuyi’s, and every pastor and every Christian out there who believes in miracles and divine healing to cause an amputated limb to grow back. Jesus prophesied that those who believe in Him would do far greater miracles than he did”.

Ayo Oritsejafor

Ayodele Joseph Oritsegbubemi Oritsejafor, known as Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, is the founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church , located in Warri, Nigeria. He became the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) on February 7, 2005, a position he held for five years. In July 2010, Oritsejafor was elected as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) , the apex body of all Christians in the country. He was allegedly presented with a private jet in 2012 by his congregation, as he claimed. Interestingly, the registration number of the jet with cash seized in South Africa is different from that one given to the cleric as a gift. Who is the liar? Maybe pastor Oritsejafor is corrupt. Or, maybe he is moving with corrupt politicians.

Chris Okotie

Christopher Oghenebrorie Okotie, is a Nigerian televangelist and the pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, a Pentecostal congregation in Lagos. An unrepentant car freak, Rev. Chris Okotie’s garage is littered with any imaginable posh automobile money can buy. From the Hummers to exotic models of Range Rover, BMW and Mercedes Benz, the dandy clergy’s taste for luxury toys is obviously insatiable. But the followers are always encouraged to live a simple lifestyle. You see hypocrisy? Don’t forget that in 2014, one of his ex church members called him a serial womaniser.

Chris Oyakhilome

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is the lead pastor of Christ Embassy worldwide. He is one of the richest Nigerian pastors. His net worth is estimated at fifty million dollars. They say he has more than thirty jeeps. The pastor does not confirm or deny this information, but taking into account his net worth, he can afford that number of cars. The residence in Oregun, Lagos, belonging to pastor Chris, is amazing. They call it the White House. It is a four-storey building with a penthouse. They say the building was remodeled several times and it costs a whopping sum of one billion naira. It was also reported that almost all materials for interior and exterior decoration were imported from abroad. You see? But most Nigerians continue to languish in poverty.

David Oyedepo

David Oyedepo is the founder and minister of Living Faith Church Worldwide. David Oyedepo foundation is the Faith Tabernacle – the biggest church auditorium with over 50 000 capacity. David Oyedepo is arguably one of the richest pastors in Nigeria. His net worth estimates from one hundred million dollars to two hundred million dollars. Only in 2014, he requested his followers to pledge him 200 new Prado Jeeps for ministry purposes. They did. However, it was noticed that he took several Jeeps to himself. One Prado Jeep was around eleven million naira. It was rumoured that a lot of influential members of the church used these Jeeps for their own personal purposes. This man, David Oyedepo continues to live in affluence while most of his church members and Nigerians, live in penury. He also built universities that ordinary members of his church cannot attend because of the highly expensive school fees.
