Ever since 2011, University of Oregon benefited from an exclusive partnership with Jordan Brand to highlight their logo and colors on some of the company’s most iconic silhouettes. Nike’s affiliation with the school runs deep, with designer Tinker Hatfield even spending some time at the University to understand their spirit.

A few weeks ago Nike’s SNKRS app offered some exclusive details on all the Oregon x Air Jordan editions, starting from the 2011 Oregon Ducks Jordan 9s to the most recent one, Oregon Ducks Air Jordan 14s. Let’s see a brief history of the University’s collaboration with the brand.

Air Jordan 9 2011

This model particularly marked the beginning of a special partnership. The aspect of the shoe gave Tinker Hatfield the perfect canvas to make a simple design that was instantly loved by both Oregon fans and players.

Jaison Williams, a former Oregon athlete, also contributed to the final design.

The Oregon Ducks Air Jordan 3s also featured a collaborative design with Todd Van Horne and JWill drawing the logo and the duck hands on the back. Hatfield came up with the rest while including the two elements designed by his colleagues.

Air Jordan 3 2012

Created at the same time with the Pit Crew edition, the all-White Air Jordan 3s is meant for the school’s football team. Designed as travel footwear, the shoe features the Oregon Ducks branding on the tongues and on the heel area.

Air Jordan 5 2013

The Oregon Ducks Air Jordan 5 holds a special place in Hatfield’s heart. The shoe is dedicated to the designer’s close friend Doug McClain who was a huge Ducks fan.

A personal message was printed inside the shoe’s tongues for the U of O alum that passed away.

Air Jordan 4 Duckman 2013

This model is dedicated to the school’s basketball team who was starting to excel in 2013. The Air Jordan 4 Duckman edition was designed in all-White with a special logo applied on the heel area.

Air Jordan 5 Duckman 2014

The Air Jordan 5 Duckman also featured the “Jumpduck” logo designed by Jaison Williams. This model was done in a more traditional Black-based colorway with classic Oregon tones and the “O” branding on the tongues.

Air Jordan V 2014

For this one Tinker decided that it’s time to do things different. The shoe suffered from a totally Bright Green transformation, something that made it special from previous releases.

Air Jordan 29 2014

Dedicated to the school’s football program, Oregon Ducks Air Jordan 29 came up with a modern design and wing-inspired graphics on the side of the shoe. Oregon’s logo can be found on the tongues and on the heel area.

Jordan Melo M10 2014

University of Oregon’s Track & Field benefited from the attention this time. The shoe has unique graphics on the toe area and on the tongues with the Oregon Ducks logo part of the overall design.

Air Jordan 14 2015

For his latest Oregon-inspired design, Tinker chose the Air Jordan 14 silhouette. The luxurious silhouette was matched with a grey-based upper to represent the university’s football team and the Puddles pattern.
