For everyone following the sneaker industry closely, this is no surprise. OFF WHITE’s Virgil Abloh decided to take on social media to premiere his first ever sneaker collaboration with widely-recognized high fashion brand Louis Vuitton.

Mathias Patillon, Head of Design Men’s Footwear for the French luxury brand, decided to give Virgil a new platform to showcase his skills after the designer disrupted the sneaker world with several releases of his own. According to fashion news websites, sneaker fans can mark June 21st as the drop date for the Virgil Abloh x Louis Vuitton sneaker collab.

Earlier this week, a snap with the upcoming drop surfaced online.

Also, Virgil’s buddy A$AP Rocky got to experience the kicks earlier than everyone else. In the photo, premiered by Abloh himself, the rapper seems to be enjoying himself alongside Playboi Carti with what looks like another sneaker that will flood the resell market.

From what we can see from the photos above, the kicks are based on a high-top silhouette while displaying a mix of Black and Grey influences with Red and White accents. Another element that’s easy to spot is the ankle-strapped velcro with Louis Vuitton boldly placed at the bottom of the sole to make a stand. In addition to that, the designer’s signature elements are also placed on the upper tongue and on each side of the shoe.

There’s currently no official release date available for the kicks, but more details should be revealed soon as Louis Vuitton’s men’s Spring/Summer 2019 show takes place from Paris Fashion Week. However, we promise to keep you updated on the news but until new information surfaces online, feel free to take on the comment section to share your thoughts on Virgil’s work so far.
